A New European Bauhaus Festival 2026 Satellite Event
VOICE: The Power of Artist-Led Interventions for a Sustainable Europe is the final event of the Horizon Europe project VOICE (Valorising Artist-Led Innovation Through Citizen Engagement) and an official Satellite Event of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2026 (NEB Festival 2026). Over the course of the VOICE project, twenty Art–Technology–Society Interaction (ATSI) initiatives have worked with communities across Europe to address ecological challenges such as soil health, water systems, biodiversity, air quality, and relationships with more-than-human environments. These initiatives demonstrate how environmental and social issues are deeply interconnected and why community perspectives are essential for shaping effective and inclusive policy.
The central aim of the VOICE satellite event is to present policy-relevant insights and recommendations emerging from the project.
Drawing on approaches such as permaCultural resilience (pCr), Inclusive Design, and Life Cycle Analysis, the programme highlights how artist-led, community-rooted practices can support ecological stewardship and long-term thinking, encourage behavioural change and collective responsibility, contribute to more responsive and place-based policy development. The event offers a space to reflect on what is at stake in local ecosystems, whose perspectives are included or missing, and how policy frameworks can better respond to complex environmental realities.
Aligned with the NEB thematic focus on Reconnecting with Nature, the event highlights how environmental and social challenges are deeply interconnected, and why solutions must be local, inclusive, and participatory.
Through dialogue and experience, you will explore how communities across Europe are already leading this shift and how these approaches can shape future policies.
