Practising Eco-Social Futures: The VOICE Artist Showcase invites audiences to encounter artistic practices shaped by care, collaboration, and ecological attention. Taking place at the Royal College of Art, Battersea campus in London, the Showcase brings together artists working at the intersection of art, society, and environmental change.

Developed through the VOICE project, the practices presented in the showcase emerge from long-term, situated engagements with communities and local contexts. Rather than offering singular statements or finished artworks, these practices unfold through process, experimentation, and dialogue - asking how art can become a way of listening, responding, and acting within complex eco-social realities.

Across the showcase, work will be shared through moving image and sound, publications, research materials, workshops, and participatory encounters. Together, these forms reflect the diversity of approaches developed within VOICE, where artistic research, community engagement, and technological or methodological exploration are intertwined.

The practices gathered here engage with questions of climate resilience, biodiversity, care, land and water relations, material ecologies, and collective forms of knowledge-making. Grounded in inclusive and socially engaged approaches, they point toward ways of practising futures that are relational, responsive, and rooted in lived experience.

Conceived as a space for exchange rather than display, the VOICE Artist Showcase welcomes artists, researchers, educators, students, and the wider public to spend time with ongoing practices - and to consider how eco-social futures are not only imagined, but continually practised together.

About VOICE

VOICE (Valorising Artist-led Innovation through Citizen Engagement) is a European project that supports artist-led projects working with communities on environmental and social challenges. Through its Art, Technology, and Society Interactions (ATSI) programme, VOICE brings together artists, cultural institutions, and researchers to develop eco-social practices that combine artistic research, community engagement, and experimental methods. Rather than producing standalone artworks, VOICE focuses on artistic processes that explore how art can contribute to more sustainable, inclusive ways of living.
